May 4, 1928 - May 14, 2015

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Nicol Clinton, 87, of Ruston will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 22, 2015, at the Presbyterian Church of Ruston. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Edith Hill.

Interment at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.

Mrs. Clinton was born May 4, 1928 in Lake City, Florida and passed away May 14, 2015 in Ruston, Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George Lyon Nicol and Margery Kidd Nicol, and her sisters Margery Nicol and Martha Mayfield Nicol, and by her husband of over half a century, James K. Clinton, for whom she devotedly cared over the years of his final illness.

Mrs. Clinton was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church of Ruston. She attended Newcomb College in New Orleans and the University of Arkansas.
She was an avid bridge player and gardener, as well as an expert bridge instructor.

Mrs. Clinton was a dedicated library and hospital volunteer and also volunteered with the Dixie Center for the Arts in Ruston.

For many years, she and her husband traveled widely throughout the world, increasing her already great knowledge of art and culture. She enjoyed opera and other classical music, and she had a practiced eye for setting a graceful table or preparing a beautiful flower arrangement. Her culinary skills were legendary.

Mrs. Clinton is survived by her sisters-in-law, Billie Taylor Clinton of Farmerville, Louisiana and Katherine Tillinghast of Berryville, Arkansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Austin David Cole, Matthew Winston Cole, Thomas Jones, Wally Watson, Buddy Johnson, Norm Carter and George Butler.

The family would like to express its appreciation to the staff of Princeton Place.
