Notes for EDWARD GARRETT, JR.: The following information is from the home page of Alice Marie (Cox) Garrett: In 1776, Edward Garrett moved his family to the ninety-sixth District of South Carolina, the area in which they settled because Laurens County in 1785. There, in 1767 he received a grant of land and in 1770, a second grant located on Warrior Creek, although Edward Garrett did not serve in the Military during the Revolutionary War. Would he be DAR member if he did not serve in the War?

Edward Garrett served in the Revolutionary War for what is now the state of South Carolina. His Will proved Aug.24th, 1794. Will Book A, Pg 102 Laurens Co., South Carolina. He moved to old Ninty Six District, South Carolina, about 1767, when he had a grant of land on Warrior Creek, Laurens Co., South Carolina. .
4. Elizabeth Ware, daughter of Nicholas Ware & Miss Long, b. ca. 1716 m. Edward Garrett, son of John Garrett and Frances Buckner. Their son Edward Garrett, Jr. m. Ann West Owsley, and they named a son Nicholas Ware Garrett.

Edward Garrett Jr., Revolutionary Soldier of Old 96th District Laurens Co., SC, was born in Old Fairfax Co., VA August 31, 1733. He died in Laurens Co., South Carolina August 25, 1794. He married Anne West Ousley in 1759. She was born in VA in 1744 and died in Laurens Co., SC Feb. 5, 1823. Both have marked graves at Warrior’s Creek Cemetery, Laurens Co., SC
Edward Garrett lived in Old 96th District Laurens Co., SC during the revolution. He was a Patriot.
He furnished supplies to the Revolutionary Army. He was the son of Edward Garrett, Sr., who died in Fairfax Co., VA in or about 1751 and his wife, Elizabeth, who shortly afterwards remarried Richard Nelson Jr.
Edward Garrett’s name appears in “Stub Entries to Indents”, by Shelly Vol. R---T page 184. “Original Warrant of June 18, 1785 to Edward Garrett for 21 pounds, 13 shillings and 6 pence,
