Eleanor Aske

Eleanor Ryther was also known as Ellen in some records. She was born circa 1485. She was the daughter of Sir Ralph Ryther and Catherine Constable.

Eleanor Ryther married John Aske Esquire before 1509.

She was called Ellin Aske in her father's will dated 20 March 1520. Eleanor Ryther was mentioned in the will of Sir Ralph Ryther dated 26 March 1520.

In the Yorkshire Feet of Fines of the Tudor period pt 1 1486-1570 (R.S. v,2), there is mention of Robert Aske who may be her son: Plaintiff - Christopher Leeds and George Anderson, purchased from Robert Aske, esq., and John Ellys, deforciants; the manor of Stokebrygefeildhowse and a messuage and a cottage with lands there and in the parish of Ryther; a portion of which Humphrey Brown, Kt., one of the Justices of the King's Bench, and Agnes his wife hold during the life of Agnes, and another portion Martin Anne and Frances his wife hold during the life of Frances
