In 1697, shortly after marrying Elizabeth, James was deeded land (deed now lost) and established a plantation in the Blackwater/Second Swamp area of Bristol Parish in Charles City County (now Prince George County), where he settled with his wife and nine children.[4]
James is believed to have passed away at his plantation in Bristol Parish, Prince George County, Virginia, sometime shortly after writing his 1711 Will. In his Will, he passes ownership of his estate to his wife Elizabeth and declares her his sole executrix.[7]
Notes
From Michael Westbrook:
James was married twice, his first wife's name is unknown. His second wife was Elizabeth Puckett. It is believed James had 5 children by his first wife and two by his second wife. After the death of James and Elizabeth, the two children of their marriage were placed in the care of Joshua Irby whose home was in Prince George County, Virginia.

Notes found at FamilySearch Sources, by user MysticMountain:
John Puckett and Elizabeth Allen:
John Puckett married Eliza Allen. License granted Mar. 18, 1691, George Worsham, Security. (Moore’s Annals of Henrico and St. John’s Parish). He seems to have married later than his brothers. He lived with his sister, Mary Womack. The fact that he married later is indicated by his other records of this period. A Timothy Allen, Sr. And Jr., a Shippey Allen and Joseph Allen are found about this time and these names appear among the 3rd, 4th and 5th generation Pucketts, indicating that they were descended from John and Eliza Allen Puckett.
The name of Shippey Allen appears among the descendents of James Puckett who settled on Cane Creek and Saluda River, Ninety-six Dist. In S.C. About 1786. The name Shippey is thought to be a corruption of the name Sheppey, Shippey, Shippe of Virginia. [4] Note: A brief perusal of the book did not yield this quote; the page should be found.
Elizabeth Allen married John Puckett on 18 March 1691.
