Stonewall Cemetery was in use before the tow n of Ethel was established about 1883 when the railroad cam e through (town was named for president of railroad). Altho ugh it was a Presbyterian cemetery many of the people in th e area buried here regardless of denomination. When you ask ed about the Ethel cemetery you would usually be referred t o the Stonewall Cemetery. Ethel is located in a low area an d the cemetery is a couple of miles north in the hills."
