About Francis Lee
Francis Lee was the son of Richard Lee and wife Ann Constable. He was born c.1648 at Dividing Creek, Gloucester County, Virginia, and died in 1714 in London, England. He became the family business agent in London. Francis and his wife Tamar, whose surname is not known, had at least seven children, at least one of whom, daughter Anne, survived to adulthood and married Henry Watson. Francis became a successful merchant in England and later the family sent a nephew, Richard III (son of the Scholar) to apprentice with him.
He did not have, or ever use, a middle name. "Lightfoot" came into the family later.
Per his will, made 9 July 1709 and probated 23 November 1714, he had three surviving sons: Richard and Thomas, who were adults, and Arthur, who was still a minor in 1709 but came of age by 1714. Plus daughter Anne Lee Watson, as noted above. A son John and a daughter Tamar had predeceased him in 16094 and Jan 1700 respectively. https://archive.org/stream/leeofvirginia16400inleee#page/153/mode/2up
