About Hannah Janes

Marriage 1: "John Browton" – Windsor Locks, CT, 15 Nov 1650.
"Connecticut, Vital Records, Prior to 1850", FamilySearch (Thu Mar 07 21:36:12 UTC 2024)

Marriage 2: Wm./William Janes/ Jeanes – 20 Nov 1662, Northampton, MA
"Massachusetts State Vital Records, 1841-1925", FamilySearch (Thu May 23 01:13:40 UTC 2024)

Born either Dorchester, Suffolk Co Mass or Windsor, Hartford Co CT

Records indicate that she was married first to John Broughton (1615-1662) in 1650 [if one accepts 1636 as her birth year, in which case] he would have been only 14 years of age at that time, so I question the marriage date, but I also have found a child, John Broughton (Jr?), born in 1654, who died in 1731, as well as children, Hannah Broughton (1656-1657), Mary Broughton (1658-1689), Sarah Broughton (1658-1752), and Thomas Broughton (1661-1693).

Comment: Adjusting her estimated birth year to what Anderson's Great Migration (Ancestry.com) bio for her father shows – "say 1630" – seems prudent. Adjusting the year to circa 1630 would means "Hannah Bascom" was born in England. Only her father's name appears on the passenger list aboard the Recovery (Pack-rat.com). However, the list is not long with nearly all listed being male, so probably heads of families and individuals make up the list.
Anderson further states that a 10-year age gap between Hannah and her next oldest sibling (all other known children born in Windsor) suggests that Thomas Bascom had an unknown first wife.
(Ken Shelley, 28 Nov 2024)

Records indicate that Hannah married William Janes on 20 Nov 1662 as his second wife. She then had children with William Janes: William Janes (Jr?), Samuel Janes, Hepzibah Janes, Benjamin Janes.
