Isabelle Ellzey

Isabelle Thomasin was the daughter of Simon Thomasin and wife Patience. She was born c.1670 in Stafford County, Virginia, and died c.1721 in Stafford County.

Isabelle married Thomas Ellzey, son of Lewis Ellzey and an unknown mother. There were three known children for this couple.

• Thomas Ellzey - born c.1692 in Stafford County, Virginia, and died May 17, 1744 in Fairfax County, Virginia
• Francis Ellzey - born c.1694 in Stafford County, Virginia, and died after 1756 in Loudoun County, Virginia
• Lewis Ellzey - born c.1702 in Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, Virginia, and died October 17, 1786 at Popes Head, Truro Parish, Fairfax County, Virginia.

Isabelle's parentage is proven in her father's will where he leaves her a piece of land and a down featherbed.

The date of Isabelle's marriage is disputed. It is placed as early 1686, but it could be after 1700 and the death of her father, as her married name and husband's name are not mentioned in the will. If that is the case, it would cast doubt on the birth dates of her children. Until hard documents are found, some of these questions cannot be answered.
