JAKOB KOHN-ZERKOWITZ, aka JOKEFF TZERKOWA, b. in Ober Czerekwitz, c1688, was the eldest son of Moyses Kohn-Zerkowitz. He lived in Ober Czerekwitz during early adulthood, but — by the late 1730s — had moved to Prague. In Prague documents dated 1753 through 1761, he is seen as “Jakob Kohn Zerkowitz” and had the status of “deputy” in the Prague Jewish community.
Following the death of his first wife, he returned to Ober Czerekwitz where he remarried.
He died in Ober Czerekwitz about 1772. He was definitely deceased by 1773 when a great-grandson was named in his honor.
The name of his first wife is unknown. It is speculated that it may have been REBEKA. Her father’s name was possibly “Simon”.She was deceased by 1765. He m. 2nd, in Ober Czerekwitz, 20 Apr 1765,;Hindl v. Lichtenstadt.
