James ELPHICK was born 16/12/1810 Brighton, Sussex (son of Edward ELPHICK and Jane GORANGE)
James married Elizabeth CASHAM 29/10/1832 at Ringmer, Sussex and they had the following children
- Stephen 1833
James was convicted of highway robbery (with George POWELL)and was sentenced to transportation for life. He arrived in Sydney Cove on 10/7/1837 on “Mangles”. His wife and son did not accompany him.
James married Jane FULLER at Camden on 9/3/1846 and they had the following children

James died at Grenfell on 21/5/1873
