About Joan Arundell
Joan/Jane Colshull had two daughters named Elizabeth by her husband Renfrey Arundell of Treloy & Trefink as well as a son Renfrey d 1468 and John, Bishop of Exeter. The first Elizabeth married Sir Edward Stradling and William Lygon, the second William Whittington and Nicholas Brome. Joan Colshull's heir was her granddaughter Anne (Arundell) Croker. When Anne died s.p. in 1507 her heirs were found to be: the granddaughter of the first Elizabeth Arundell, Anne Stradling, the son of the second Elizabeth Arundell, John Whittington and the son of Joan Colshull's daughter by her second marriage to John Nanfan, Richard Bolles. The inheritance was substantial as Joan Colshull had been an heiress and her husband Renfrey Arundell had significant landholdings which had also descended to Anne (Arundell) Croker.
See the IPM of Anne (Arundell) Crocker.
"Anne Crocker died 25 August last without heir of her body, whereupon the said reversion descended to Anne Danvers and John Whittington and Richard Bolles, esquires ; Anne Danvers being the daughter of John Straddling son of Elizabeth the elder daughter of the aforesaid Joan by Renifrey Arundell, knight, her first husband, John Whittington being the son of Elizabeth the second daughter of the said Joan and Renfrey, and Richard Bolles being son of Isabel, daughter of the said Joan by John Nanfan, esquire, her second husband."
