Family

John Dransfield, son of John Dransfield and Agnes Thornhill, was probably born at of West Bretton, Yorkshire, England. Also called John de Dronsfield, he was alive in 1386.

He married 1st Joan (said to be Stainton), 2nd Isabel ___, and had William, Agnes, Isabel by 1st wife, and Richard, Thomas by 2nd wife.

John de Dronsfield and John de Stainton were witness to a deed dated 20 OCT 1359. [3]

  1. Sir William Dronsfield, William, born abt 1365, died 1406 while in office as Sheriff of Yorkshire. Married Grace ___ (rumoured to be Gascoigne), no legitimate children. One bastard, Richard Kexborough, dsp. William's coheiresses were his sisters, Agnes Wentworth and Isabel Bosvile (as per the half-blood rule - full sisters before half-brothers).
