Cluff, George H. Brimhall, Joseph M. Tanner, and John A. Widtsoe at Brigham Young Academy. Mr. Bench served two terms on an LDS mission 1896-1898, the second time in 1946-1947 together with his wife Elvira. Mr. Bench was a forest ranger, teacher, postmaster, civil engineer, county surveyor, member of school board (three terms), city councilman (three terms), representative to the state legislature for three terms, 1905, 1939, and 1941; city treasurer and city mayor. He was a member of a group who put in the waterworks system for Fairview and acted as president until it was sold to the city. He worked diligently the past 25 years trying to get additional water for Sanpete Couny and urged the building of badly needed reservoirs.
