John Pickens, born in Virginia May 27,1751.
May have been a son of William Pickens. He married Lettes Hannah ,who was born Oct. 15, 1767.They moved from Virginia to Tennessee where he entered land in Blount County on headwaters of Nail's Creek, just south of Picken's Gap in Bay's Mountain.
