Joseph Benson

Biography

Born Circa 1640 in Hingham to John & Mary (Williams) Benson.[1]

Married Sarah circa 1666, probably in Hull, Suffolk, MA.[1]

Joseph died sometime before 1 December 1705, as evidenced by the fact that a deed dated that date to his son, Joseph Jr., refers to his father as deceased.[2][1]

Curator's note: Furthermore (to clarify any issues regarding the place of Joseph Benson's birth) the following history clearly shows the arrival of Joseph's parents and older siblings in 1638 in Massachusetts making it physically impossible for Joseph's birth to have occurred later and elsewhere. -- Jessica Marie German
