John de Standish, Squire of Standish, 1322-1350, son of William de Standish and his wife Margaret, was lord of the manor, and attested a charter in May 1351, but died soon after.
He appears in the following records: 25 Jan 1329/30, John son of William, lord of Standish, granted to Henry son of Herny son of Anabil de Shevingley a piece of land in Standish bounded by the Cockcraft, Standish Moor and Kirk Brook, toghether with part of Urchinsnape in Shevington, in exchange for Shevinley, which lay on the west side of the manor of Standish.
John son of William de Standish in 1332, gave his eighth part of the manor of Shevington to his son William and Margery his wife, and if it should happen the said William and Margery should die without issue, then it should return to the right heirs of the said John.
In a marriage contract, 23 Jan 1343, John de Standish granted to henry his son and Joan, daughter of Henry de Worseley, all the lands and tenements in the village of Shevington except those lands and tenements inclosed in his park.
