About Maldred FitzMaldred
Maldred was the son of Maldred, Lord of Allerdale and Ealdgyth.1 In 1084 he received the village of Winlanton (now in Tyne and Wear) from the Bishop of Durham in exchange for part of the village of Newton Katton.
