About Marguerite Maclin
In 1662, Jean Cicotte married Marguerite Maclin, a fille à marier. She came to Nouvelle France as an orphan in 1659 and lived under the protection of Marguerite Bourgeois.
Marguerite Bourgeois, Maisonneuve, and another ancestor, Gilbert Barbier, were witnesses at Jean Cicotte and Marguerite Maclin's wedding on October 23, 1662. Jean and Marguerite were only married five years before he died, leaving Marguerite with two children. She quickly remarried Nicolas-Antoine Boyer, and had another ten children with him.
