DEATH OF A CENTENARIAN. -

Mrs. McShane, an old resident of Black Brush, died recently at the advanced age of 104. She was much respected in the district, having lived there ever since her arrival in the colony in 1836, a period of 52 years.

She was born in County Antrim, in 1784, and prior to her departure for Tasmania lived in that part of Ireland. Up to the time of her decease Mrs. McShane had been well and hearty, and her last illness was of short duration, and she passed peacefully and happily away.

Her remains were interred in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brighton, on Friday afternoon last, the Rev. Father Beechinor conducting the burial service, and speaking in high terms of the deceased.

She was the widow of the late John McShane and mother of Hugh McShane also deceased.
