George Francis McGovern Bissett was born on 1 December 1894. He was the youngest child of Adam Bissett and Alice Bissett (nee Bevan) who had married in New Zealand on 28 June 1884. George was killed in action at Gallipoli on 27 April 1915 and is remembered on the Lone Pine Memorial in Turkey. Private in WIR, file number 10/304.
