Randle Mainwaring of Kirmincham was ancestor of the Mainwarings of Carringham and of Nantwich [Ashworth P. Burke, compiler, Family Records (reprint by Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, MD, 1994: Clearfield Company, 1897), pg. 413].

Ormerod's text on the Mainwarings of Carincham is very confusing. Ormerod calls this Mainwaring, the progenitor of the Mainwarings of Carincham, Ralph in one sentence and Randle in the other. The County Families of Lancashire and Cheshire (p. 374), call him Ralph as does Boyer's Medieval England Ancestors of Robert Abell (p. 168) 713 ,721

The Magna Charta Sureties, 1215, Weis, 98:10A, the entry for Margaret Savage named Randle Mainwaring as her second husband, and calls him the third son of Randle of Over Peover, but notes that this lacks proof. 526

Ormerod's pedigree of the Mainwarings of Carincham shows Margaret Savage, daughter of Sir John Savage of Clifton and widow of John Maxfeld, as the wife of Ralphe Maynwarynge of Kermincham, third son of Randle Maynwarnge of Over Peover, and purchaser of Kerincham.
