Brother of Capt. Gabriel Archer of Jamestown, a leader of the Jamestown colony and whose skeleton was discovered and verified in July 2015 in what was the remains of the Jamestown Anglican Church.

Richard Archer was born about September 6, 1579, in Warwickshire, England. Richard's father was John Archer and his mother was Eleanor Archer (Frewin).

Richard, married Mary, daughter and sole heiress of Rowland Bull, Esq., of Neithropp, par.
