• Son of John Beauchamp, 1st Baron Beauchamp of Powick and Margaret Ferrars.1
• Richard Beauchamp, 2nd Baron Beauchamp of Powick succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Beauchamp of Powick, co. Worcester [E., 1447] between 9 April 1475 and 19 April 1475.1 On 8 June 1512 at Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England, an inquest was held.1 On 15 October 1512 at Spittlegate an inquest was again held, by Grantham.1
• He died on 19 January 1502/3 at Broomhill, Kent, England, without surviving male issue.1
• On his death, the Barony of Beauchamp of Powick became extinct.1

A 1504 Inquisition Post Mortem named three daughters - Elizabeth and Anne as above, and Eleanor, age 26 and more, wife of Richard Rede, with no mention of Margaret.[8]

Note that with marriages arranged to further family alliances, the legal date of marriage may well have been earlier than the marriage was actually consummated.

Disambiguation

This Richard Beauchamp should not be confused with Richard Beauchamp, Lord St Amand, who was created a Knight of the Bath in 1475.[10]

As Sir Richard Beauchamp, of Kemerton and Boddington, he threw aside his father's Lancastrian ties to hold the gates of Gloucester closed against Queen Margaret on the morning of Friday, 3 May 1471, so denying her army use of the Severn Bridge and an escape route into Wales. As she moved north he harried the Lancastrian rear and captured some weapons on the road to Tewkesbury. He fought at the battle of Tewkesbury and was knighted. Soon after, his adulterous wife, Elizabeth, was accused of conspiring his death, with her relation and Beauchamp's litigious neighbour, Thomas Burdet. John Stacey and Thomas Blake were also involved and all three were later accused of imagining the King's death. Burdet and Stacey were hanged at Tyburn. Blake was pardoned.
