About Samuel Smith, of Hartford

Samuel may well have had successive wives named Mary. First wife Mary Church seems to have a death date of 1700 and 2nd and younger wife Mary Harrison b 1679 and died 1707 so Samuel's eldest children would be hers. The Harrison surname is posited by an Ancestry subscriber but no support immediately visible (Don Blish 2018)

The death of Mary Smith, nee Church, is verified in "The History of Ancient Wethersfield, Connecticut," Vol 2: by Adams, Sherman W. 1836-1898 and Stiles, Henry Reed 1832-1909 pg 220. (link - https://www.familysearch.org/photos/artifacts/114148125)
