Biographical Summary

"Sir Alexander Reid, Baronet [S. 1703], of Barra, only s. and h. ; sometime Burgess of Kintore ; M.P. for Elgin burgh, 1710-13; suc. to the Baronetcy on the death of his father. He m. 28 Jan. 1705, Agnes, 1st da. of the Hon. Sir Alexander Osilvie, 1st Baronet [S. 1701], of Forglen, a Lord of Session, under the style of Lord Forglen, by his 1st wife, Mary, da. of Sir John Allardice. He d. at a great age, 5 Feb. 1750, in Aberdeenshire."
