Biographical Summary
"David Cunningham [or Cunynghame], of Milncraig, in the parish of Coylton, co. Ayr, s. and h. of David Cunynghame, of the same, by Margaret, da. of John Masotjn, of Rosebank, Town Clerk of Ayr, suc. his father, Dec. 1659 ; was admitted Advocate, 2 Jan. 1673, in which profession he became eminently successful, and was cr. a Baronet [S.], as above, 3 Feb. 1701/2, with rem. "to heirs male in perpetuum." He was M.P. [S.] for Lauder, 1702-07. Besides several estates in Ayrshire, he acquired that of Livingstone, co. Linlithgow. He m. firstly, Isabella (6. 30 Jan. 1659), 4th and yst. da. of James (Dalrymple), 1st Viscount Stair [S.], by Margaret, da. of James Ross, of Balniel. He m secondly, 16 March 1698, Elizabeth, da. of Sir Robert Baird, 1st Baronet [S. 1695], of Saughton Hall, by Elizabeth, da. of Michael Fleming. He d. 28 Jan. 1708."
