Biographical Summary

"Sir David Kinloch, Baronet [S 1686] of Gilmerton, brother and heir male of Sir James Kinloch, born about 1710; succeeded to the Baronetcy 25 March 1778; was Writer to the Privy Seal, and was, in1749, Commissioner of Fisheries, as also Governor of the British Linen Company. He married 16 January 1746, Harriet, daughter of Sir Archibald Cockburn, 7th Baronet [S 1627] of Langton, by Mary (married 1719), daughter of John Campbell, 1st Earl of Breadalbane [S]. She died 29 July 1757. He died 18 February 1795, aged 85."
