26 September 1472: nstrument of resignation by Agnes Johnstoun [Johnston], wife of Alexander Abircromy [Abercromby], laird of Ley, in hands of Thomas, bishop of Aberdeen, of lands of Ditouch and Braco, in lordship of Galcholis, sheriffdom of Banff, for new infeftment in favour of herself and her said spouse, and of Alexander Abircromy [Abercromby], their son, and Jonet Ogilvy, daughter of James Ogilvy of Deskfurde [Deskford], his [future] spouse. 28 November 1484: Obligation (in Scots) by Sir James Ogilvy of Deskfurd knight to William earl of Eroll lord Hay and constable of Scotland his heirs, executors and assignees. The earl having sold to Sir James his lands of Knokdurne, in the forest of Boyne and sheriffdom of Banff, redeemable by payment of 17 score and 10 merks Scots before Martinmas next, and it being provided that if the lands were not then redeemed, Sir James should pay to the earl 210 merks Scots for the "utir waill" of the lands; therefore Sir James obliged himself in that event to pay the said 210 merks, in full payment of 28 score merks for the lands, at Yule next.
