About Sir William de Trussell, Lord of Billesley
SIR WILLIAM DE TRUSSELL, LORD OF BILLESLEY MANOR
Osbert Trussell, 1165, was the Lord of Billesley in Warwickshire, which he held of the Earl of Warwick. According to Dugdale, "from this Osbert is it that the several families of Trussel, viz. of Cubleson and Acton - Trussell in Staffordshire; of Flore and Gayton in Northhamptonshire; of Aylesthorpe in Leicestershire; and of this and other places in Warwickshire are descended". Osbert's son, WILLIAM, married AGNES ,of the three co - heiresses of ROBERT FITZ OTES (ODO) OF LOCKSLEY, whose inheritance was distributed to them in 1178. William was suceeded by (his son) RIchard.
