William R. Holloway Sr. was born about 1808 in TN, and died after 8 Jun. 1893 in Comanche Co., TX. He married Jane Black, daughter of Jacob Black and his first wife, Mary Elizabeth Savage. Jane was born about 1814 in Union Co., SC, and died after 1880, either in Freestone or Comanche Co., TX. William and Jane were married in about 1832, presumably in Tuscaloosa or Fayette Co., AL, where both their families lived. Their eldest-known child was born about 1833 in Alabama. William and Jane were in Mississippi for the birth of their son William Randolph Jr. in 1844 (according to subsequent census records), and then in Attala Co., MS for the censuses of 1850 to 1870. Their son William Randolph married in Freestone Co., TX in 1873. William and Jane were then in Freestone County for the census of 1880, William appearing on the tax list there in 1882. The last evidence he was alive was 8 Jun. 1893 in Comanche Co., TX. One year earlier, on 8 Jun. 1892, William Holloway of Comanche County gave power of attorney to (his son) T. J. Holloway for purposes of selling his property in Hill Co., TX. In granting power of attorney, William described the property to be sold as 11 miles southeast from the town of Hillsboro on the waters of Brookins Branch, "being a part of a survey patented to the heirs of Samuel Holloway Deceased." William R. Holloway Sr. and his wife Jane Black were the parents of the following children.

Mary Elizabeth, born Jan. 1833 in AL (presumably in Tuscaloosa or Fayette County), died aft. 1900 in Haskell Co., TX, married Mr. Smith, date unknown. Their only child was Adolphus Francis "Frank" Smith, born 1851 in MS. Mary Elizabeth was listed as a widow in the 1860 census of Attala Co., MS, she and her son Frank living with her parents. Mary and Frank were living with her parents again in the 1880 census of Freestone Co., TX.

George Washington (twin), born 1838 in MS, listed as a schoolteacher in 1860 census of Lawrence Co., MS (living with Elizabeth Graham, born c1795 in SC). Confederate soldier and prisoner of war in Marion, Grant Co., IN, paroled 4 Jul. 1863, never heard from again

Lindley M. (twin), born 1838 in MS, listed as an attorney in the 1860 census of Simpson Co., MS, living with the family of Green Fenn. Served as a Confederate soldier. His military back pay was paid to his father.

William Randolph Jr., born 1844 in MS, died 1909 in Freestone Co., TX, married Sarah Elizabeth Savage (b. 1845 in Union Co., SC, d. about 1914 in Freestone County). Served as a Confederate soldier, severely wounded 1864 in Dalton, GA.

Robert W., born 1848 in MS, died about 1930 in Freestone or Limestone Co., TX., married Sarah Jane Cornelia Gregory (b. 1852 in Union Co., SC, d. 1883 in Limestone Co., TX). Note: Robert had a nephew George Sims Holloway who was born 1887, and then Robert's daughter Beulah Holloway (1875-1949) married Robert Wilson Sims (1869-1924. This Sims family might trace back to Blount Co., TN. John Holloway Jr. (1792-bef. 1860) of Blount and Marion Cos., TN and Lawrence Co., AR, grandson of Joseph Holloway of Blount Co., TN, married his first wife Mary "Polly" Burnett in Blount County, whose brother was John Sims Burnett.)

Thomas Jefferson Holloway Sr., born 1851 in Attala Co., MS, died 1894 in Huntsville, Walker Co., TX, married Nancy T. "Nannie" Quarles/Qualls (both spellings appear in DNA matches) (b. 1852 in TX, d. 1881 in Freestone Co., TX).

Upon his release, he changed his name to William Jack "Jack" Hiles. He then married Queenie Lavora Guthrie (b. 1888 in TX; died 1983 in Otero, Alamogordo Co., NM).

Lord Byron Holloway, born 1878 in Freestone Co., TX, died 1922 in Tulsa Co., OK, married Alice Missouri Walton (b. 1879 in Comanche Co., TX, d. 1945 in Colorado). The couple divorced in Colorado in 1918.
