Robert came to Canada in 1818 from Tipperary. He built a shack for the first winter and as part of the conditions for the 100 acres, he had to have a house built by the following autumn. In 1855 he received the deed for the land. Believed to have married and emigrated to Canada inapproximately 1818. Possibly with wife and 8 children, 3 girls,5 boys. According t o Andrew Keays, the family arrived in Canada in 1817 on the ship Brunswick . Brought seedlings for cherry trees with them, and then planted them around their property in Canada. The Montreal Gazette records the ship Brunswick as having arrived in Quebec City on 29 July1818. This is my direct ancestor. He is as far as I can get on my Keays line.
