About the Séguin dit Ladéroute surname

While doing research on my Gauthier family tree, I came across this surname. My 4th Great-Grandfather, Antoine LaLonde, born 1737 in Ste Anne de Bellevue, Quebec, died 1826, married Marie Therese Seguin dit Laderoute, born July 8, 1744 in Quebec, died 1799 in Vaudreuil, Quebec. They had a daughter named Angelique LaLonde, born1768, died 1811. Angelique married Jean Baptiste Gauthier, born 1795, died 1880. They had a son named Telesphore, born 1840, died 1917. Telesphore was my Great-Grandfather. I forgot to write down my Great-Grandmother's name for all this! Anyway, my grandfather's name was Alfred Joseph Gauthier. He married Alice Black in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and they had four sons: Alfred, Jr, Francis, Vincent and Armand (my Dad, who passed away this past August 30th, 2011) - all deceased. I hope this might help anyone looking for a connection to this seemingly unusual surname. With such strong connections on our Gauthier side to French-Canadian origins and history, I'm hoping someone out there can shed some light on my own family. Could we be related from way back when?
