There are eight undisputed children of Edward Frost and Thomasine Frost, which I've laid out in Edward's profile.

We need evidence for some of these other children. I've already disconnected a couple for whom there doesn't appear to be any real argument, but it's plausible that a few of these might be real, so does anyone have supporting evidence for:

Greatly appreciated -- thanks!

I last worked on Thomasine Frost in 2023.

The list of children for her includes:

Children (after about 1588-9, children baptized at Stanstead):

10. John Bpt 20 Jan 1609
11. Thomas (bp 30 April 1615: bur 23 June 1615)[4]
12. Thomas (bp 21 April 1616; not mentioned in father's will)[5]

Footnotes

4. [S53] Mary Lovering Holman, The American Genealogist (n.p.: n.pub., 1933-34), p. 135.
5. [S258] Harold F Porter, The American Genealogist (n.p.: n.pub., January/April 1986), pp. 164-165.

I think the second Thomas died young also, because he’s not in Edward Frost’s 1616 will.

Is there an extra Anne?

My only question now is the first Anne Frost (died young) because she’s not mentioned in the Holman page.

The first Anne was documented by Jacobus and I don't argue with him.

I've added the additional Holman citation and the Porter citation, and I've added John and the two Thomases to the list in Edward's "About".

And wait! Now I see what you mean about the extra Anne -- you linked to Jacobus. :) Yeah, let's be sure about that...

Porter is the one who found the first Anne, as you've noted. Holman must've just missed her? Doesn't strike me as too problematic, although a bit odd to not reuse the name for the immediate next daughter...I think we're good with these 11, or no?

We had a huge issue with William Frost, of Stanstead

He was bad merged by literally everyone into William Frost, of Fairfield I undid back to 2014 but there were many bad merges before then. Sadly, the Fairfield man had been well sourced since arrival on geni. It’s the magnetic power of Edmund Rice, perhaps.

As far as I know the Stanstead William Frost had no issue, but I wouldn’t count on that. Notes are sketchy.

I’ve got 12 kids for Thomasine. Maybe you’re missing the died young Mary I had to re-create just now? She’s in Holman.

Mary Frost (died young) & Mary Frost (unconfirmed husbands on offer for the 2nd Mary).

You’re missing

8. Edward Frost bpt 11 Nov 1605
Edward Frost (died young)

My list currently is:

  1. Anne Frost, baptised 28 November 1586 at Glemsford, buried 27 December 1586
  2. Elizabeth Frost, baptised 24 March 1587 at Glemsford; married Henry Rice; died 20 June 1647
  3. William Frost, baptised 19 September 1589 at Stanstead
  4. Ann Frost, baptised 3 December 1592: married Lawrence Collen
  5. Alice Frost, baptised 1 December 1594 at Stanstead; married Thomas Blower; died c. 9 September 1639
  6. Mary Frost, baptised 20 Sep 1596, buried 13 November 1596 at Stanstead
  7. Mary Frost, born c. 1597
  8. Thomasine Frost, baptised 10 Aug 1600 at Stanstead; died 13 June 1654
  9. Edward Frost, baptised 11 November 1605 at Stanstead
  10. John Frost, baptised 20 January 1609 at Stanstead
  11. Thomas Frost, baptised 30 April 1615 at Stanstead; buried 23 June 1615
  12. Thomas Frost, baptised 21 April 1616 at Stanstead; not mentioned in Edward's will that July

I don't have the Mary Frost you do; I have the b. c. 1597 one as the one alive in his will. I wonder if that Mary is actually the one born and died in 1596, and has accidentally been turned into two people. And then your Mary is the one in the will. Or were there three Marys?

2 Mary’s, not 3.

From Thomasine:

6. Mary (bp. 21 Sep 1596- bur. 23 Nov 1596)
9. Mary bpt 21 Jan 1607

If you adjust the 2nd Mary baptism date, we match.

Listed updated.

If I never again think of this family, I'll be okay with that. :) Any time I find myself questioning Jacobus, I feel icky all over!!

Reviews are always good, though. We found the wrong William Frost, of Fairfield

Good job, you two!
