Setting name display preferences

Perhaps not everyone is aware of how easy it is to adjust name display to what ever is most comfortable for you.

Go here:

http://www.geni.com/account_settings/name_preferences

Customize how names are displayed on Geni. These preferences apply to family trees, lists and the rest of Geni. Profiles always display the full name or display name. You may also change these settings in your tree, under the Preferences tab.

Set your preference for maiden name display:

* Do not display maiden names
* Maiden name instead of last name
* Maiden name instead of last name in CAPS
* Maiden name appended, in parentheses
* Maiden name appended, in parentheses (tree only)

Set your preference for general name display:

* Ignore display name
* Show suffixes
* Show middle names

Save Changes or Cancel

Soo ... if you'd like to see "maiden name," for instance, in ALL CAPS ... adjust your preferences.

Also please note that the traditional pedigree "maiden name only" display simply a matter of the radio button:

Maiden name instead of last name

And if Maiden Name is empty the Last Name field will automatically be used.

Do NOT leave the Last Name field empty and only use the Maiden Name field empty because the result will be that only the first name will be visible for those who are choosing other than default display option.
