Biography

Abigail Churchill was born February 5, 1756, the daughter of Lemuel Churchill and Abigail Rider of Plymouth, Massachusetts[1]

On 13 December 1775, she married Abijah Crosby, son of Jonathan Crosby, and had children[2], including:

Jonathan, who was a Deacon in Chebogue Nova Scotia. Note: There is a possibility that Jonathan's parents instead were Abijah's brother Jonathan Jr, and his wife Martha Howard, but Jonathan Sr. states in his will in case my son Abijah be deceased, then I give the hundred acres to his only son John
Abijah was lost at sea shortly after his son was born.

On August 30, 1781, Abigail Churchill Crosby married Marcus Ring, the son of George Ring and Lucy Chipman of Kingston, Plymouth, Massachusetts[3], and they had children, including:

Marcus Ring, born circa 1790, who was christened in 1810, and who married Mercy Trefry, daughter of Joshua Pitman Trefry II on 28 May 1811, and had children, and then married Phoebe (Scott) Crosby, widow of Benjamin Crosby
Samuel Ring, born 30 April 1783, who married Mercy Cain, daughter of James Cain of Yarmouth circa 1817[4]
Jacob Ring, born 1821 who died young without children
Luther Ring, born 1823, who married Mehitable Trask and died 26 May 1841

Abigail Churchill Crosby Ring died in 1833[5], and is buried in Chebogue Cemetery in Yarmouth, NS [6]
