Early Murkowskis in Kcynia

In the earliest records Murkowski was spelled Morkowski with a kreska over the o. This made the same sound as Murkowski. The family name migrated from Morkowski to Murkowski in the early 1800s.

Chrisostum Murkowski was born around 1749. Early Kcynia records do dot contain surnames of anyone except magnates so it is difficult to trace this family back further. His first marriage was in 1770 in Kcynia to Dorothea Cyrulik. They had the following children:
